| Bispham Turfgrass Support Building Dedicated at University of Florida (August 2006) |
The new Bispham Turfgrass Support Building at the University of Florida/IFAS Extension in Citra, Florida was dedicated during the North Central Florida Turfgrass Field Day on July 19. The new building is at the Pine Acres Plant Science Unit in Citra. The Bispham Turfgrass Support Building has been named in honor and recognition of Jack Bispham’s support. Jack Bispham graduated from UF in 1976, and transitioned from the dairy industry to the turfgrass and nursery industry in 1988. He is the owner and president of Bayside Sod, Inc. in Sarasota. Jack established an endowment fund, “The Bispham Research Fund”, in 2005 for the University’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) research programs that will be conducted in the new building. Three of Jack’s five children are also University of Florida graduates. |
