| Fifth Annual Sod Solutions Producers’ Meeting Highlights Optimism, Innovations for 2002 |
More than 100 people from ten states attended the fifth annual producers’ meeting hosted by Sod Solutions, Inc. in Orlando, FL on January 30, 2002. The meeting, which was planned to provide key information and updates to Sod Solutions licensees, featured a guest appearance from Tom Keeven, President of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI), news about Sod Solutions turfgrasses, new product innovations, and dinner.
Sod Solutions, Inc., specializes in the development and release of warm-season turfgrasses. Sod Solutions licenses turfgrass producers to grow its proprietary grasses, and currently works with more than 150 sod farms around the world. The annual meeting is an opportunity to meet with many licensees at one time and share company and industry information.
“Sod Solutions is very optimistic about business prospects for this year,” said Tobey Wagner, the company’s president. “Despite recent economic and industry pressures, we were fortunate to see a double-digit increase in demand for our brands in 2001. We attribute this growth to the quality and dedicated efforts of the licensed producers that grow our turfgrasses. With their continued commitment, as well as our own assertive promotion of our existing turfgrass brands and new product introductions, we expect 2002 to be a very good year.”
Sod Solutions’ line of “Producers’ Grasses” includes Palmetto St. Augustine, EMPIRE Zoysia, EMPRESS Zoysia and the newest brand, Celebration Bermudagrass.
All of these turfgrasses are recognized for their distinct production benefits, as well as the favorable technical and aesthetic characteristics that are displayed in a range of applications.
Sod Solutions will also introduce Instant Border™ in 2002 through VersaScapes™, a new company division. The Instant Border™ plant system features uniquely sized and packaged bedding and border plants that can be used to quickly and cleanly install fully established borders. Instant Border™ will be available at U.S. retailers later this year. |
