The Florida Sod Growers Cooperative hosted its annual Field Day at Kirkland Sod in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on April 29.

The event is the only one of its kind in Florida that is devoted exclusively to the sod production industry. The recent Field Day featured vendor displays, industry speakers, and equipment demonstrations, including Trebro Manufacturing’s new automatic stacking slab harvester.

FSGC Executive Director Betsy McGill said that "attendance was more than 300 people, our highest turnout ever." Attendees included sod growers and their representatives, vendors, and allied professionals. During a lunchtime presentation, Clive Morris, former Vice President of Agriculture for SMR Turf & Trees of Bradenton, FL, was recognized for his contributions to the turfgrass industry.
