| Q: Which grass should I use? |
A: Selection of the proper turfgrass variety for your situation is a somewhat subjective process. First, you must consider varieties that perform best in your local climate and soil type...there's no sense trying to make a grass work in an environment that it wasn't designed for. Second, you should look to varieties that combine the overall qualities that are most important to you; aesthetics, maintenance requirements, environmental aspects, etc. To assist you in deciding which Sod Solutions' variety is right for you, please see the chart below.

| Q: Can I buy your grasses in seeded form? |

| Q: Are your grasses sold in plug trays? |
A: Yes. You can purchase all of our turfgrass varieties in plug trays. For a list of plug tray producers serving your area, please visit our where to buy page. |

| Q: Exactly what is a plug tray and how do I use it? |
A: Plug trays are plastic trays that hold 1x1 inch pre-rooted turfgrass plantlets. These plantlets, or plugs, are primarily installed into lawns for repair and renovation work but can be used to start a new lawn. Plug trays have many benefits and may be just what you need to accomplish your goals. For more information on plug trays, please visit bethelfarms.com. | Q: Where can I find maintenance information for Sod Solutions' grasses? |
A: The latest information concerning mowing, watering, fertilization, and insect and disease control can be found on our Maintenance page. This information is tailored to each specific Sod Solutions' turfgrass variety. |

| Q: How do I water my shaded lawn? |
A: Once grass is established, shaded areas continue to require less water than full sun areas. Again, a fungicide may be needed during hot rainy periods when the grass blades remain moist for prolonged periods to reduce grey leaf spot and brown patch. For an established shaded lawn, a good rule of thumb for watering is to allow the grass to wilt slightly, apply up to, but no more than one inch of water; only water again when there is more wilt. There are occasions when spot watering is necessary. |

| Q: Will Sod Solutions' grasses work in my city / state? |
A: Sod Solutions' turfgrasses are "warm season" grasses. As such, they will generally thrive in all regions of the southern U.S. Use the maps below, that depict U.S. Agricultural Zones, to determine the adaptability of our varieties to your specific location. Please note that the U.S. Agricultural Zones are somewhat general in nature and that you may live in a "micro-climate" that has different climatic extremes. If you feel this is the case, please contact your local county extension service to determine a more accurate zone specification for your area, then apply that information to our turfgrass viability recommendations.

| Q: Should I seed or sod my yard? |
A: There is a common misconception that seeding is the best way to establish a lawn because it is much less expensive than sodding. In realty, sodding turns out to be less expensive over time once costs such as increased maintenance inputs and repair are accounted for. Add to that the instantaneous and finished look you get with sod and its clear to see that sodding is preferable in most instances. Here are other points to consider when deciding whether to seed or sod:

| Q: How does Sod Solutions control the quality of their grasses? |
A: Sod Solutions has developed a quality control program designed to ensure that only high quality, genetically pure, competitively priced Sod Solutions turfgrass varieties are produced. Highlights of this program include a rigorous licensing process that identifies only quality and service-oriented producers, multiple suppliers to most geographic regions ensuring adequate supply at competitive prices, genetically pure planting stock material (identifiable by DNA banding and physical characteristics) that originates from approved sources, quality control stamped invoices, and on-site inspection of producer farms by Sod Solutions. This program, along with our participation in several regional certification agency programs, should give consumers an added sense of assurance that the turfgrass they are purchasing from a licensed Sod Solutions producer is of the highest quality. |
