The High Performance Bermudagrass
Celebration is a favorite of golf courses in central and southern regions of the United States, and has been used extensively for new courses and renovations. This greatly improved bermudagrass is a rapidly growing variety that establishes very quickly, allowing it to overtake and choke out weeds that may creep in. Celebration’s striking blue-green color and superior turf density add appeal and playability to any fairway, rough or tee box. Rapid, right horizontal growth helps it recover quickly from divots. Celebration also tolerates moderate shade.
A Clemson University study has rated Celebration #1 for shade tolerance among bermudagrass cultivars.
Once established, Celebration requires only moderate watering, mowing, de-thatching and maintenance. Since Celebration is aggressive with weeds, it rarely experiences disease and insect problems.
The same tough runners, rhizomes and deep roots that provide improved sod strength also make Celebration markedly more drought tolerant than many other bermudagrasses.
Celebration’s advantages have been experienced in “real world” golf applications for a decade, and have been underscored by university research findings (go to research section). All of these qualities create better playability and more rounds played, with less downtime and maintenance.
